HTC One M8 Mini Goes Official, Packs 4.5" Display, Quad-Core CPU, 1GB RAM, 13MP Primary Shooter, 5MP Front Cam, Tipped To Cost €470

HTC One M8 mini: After several weeks of speculation, leaks and rumors the HTC One M8 mini is finally official. And we certainly aren't disappointed as far as specs are concerned.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the midrange HTC device was officially announced today and will be available in three color options, silver, gold, and gray.

In case you are wondering, the HTC One M8 mini looks exactly the same as the flagship smartphone when you look at both phones in front. However, you can definitely notice that the One M8 mini is bit shorter than its 5" sibling.

The midrange device is also actually a little thicker than the One M8, though that has been effectively compensated by the phone's curved design.

On the specifications side, the One M8 mini packs a 4.5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, the same as last year's One M7 mini version. Also on board is a quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU running at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM and Adreno 305 for good graphics performance.

There is also a 16GB of built in memory with an option for microSD expansion of up to 128GB.

The Android-powered handset also packs the usual connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS and LTE support. On the camera department, HTC veered away from its UltraPixel sensors and settled for a conventional 13MP primary camera at the back and a 5MP shooter in front.

While official pricing details have not yet been revealed yet, a separate report says that the HTC One M8 mini would be priced at €470 in EU, or about $645.

That pricing is pretty steep, so we're keeping our hopes up that the midrange HTC phone would be priced cheaper. In comparison, Motorola's Moto G only costs around €160 to 180, and their specs do not differ that much, aside from the aluminum finish and better cameras.
