Upcoming Blackberry Phones 2014: New BB OS Powered Handsets To Get Improved Home Screen Management Functions, Better Camera, Etc.

Upcoming Blackberry phones 2014: Blackberry has officially begun its slow climb back to the mobile competition where it almost fell completely due to previous mistakes. And now that the company's new smartphone, the Z3 has performed well in Indonesia, the Canadian mobile manufacturer should start shifting its focus on its outdated OS.

Like Windows Phone in its early years, Blackberry OS is often lacking, clunky and is just incomparable to other platforms around like Android and iOS. However, that status makes it easier for the company to improve and move forward.

According to a report by BGR, the company has wrote on its blog about an upcoming update - Blackberry OS 10.3. There were 18 improvements included in the post which are said to make users enjoy BB OS more.

One of the improvements would be a cleaner homescreen where apps can be cramped into one folder, while the wallpaper or screensaver is displayed. There is also a 'running apps grid' which sounds similar to a task manager, though it can be accessible from the homescreen so users can see which apps are currently running.

In addition, there are changes in the Blackberry Hub, where certain tasks and functions have become simpler and easier. Another notable point is the improved camera. While we do not have the hard details as to what changed in the Blackberry OS's camera features, at least the company is giving time to bring what users really want.

In the report, the new update for BB 10 will arrive soon, probably before the year ends. Who knows? The update may even arrive with a new Blackberry device, a flagship phone, or perhaps a tablet.

We just hope Blackberry continues to put its act together in order to gain better traction of the enterprise market where it dominated in the early 2000's.
