Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 Specs, Release Date: Midrange Phablet Tipped To Get 2 Display Sizes, Allegedly Packs 720p Screens, Snapdragon 800, 1GB RAM

Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 specs, release date: Last year, Samsung launched a gigantic device dubbed Galaxy Mega, but inside its huge display lie low midrange specs. Apparently, that combination proved to be a killer pair (huge screen, low midrange specs) and was welcomed warmly by Android fans.

The Galaxy Mega also came with two screen sizes - a 5.8-inch display and a 6.3-inch screen. Of course, both devices still pack identical specs in order to keep the price down.

It is already almost a year after the original Galaxy Mega 5.8 and 6.3 were launched, and so we get to see reports that Samsung is already preparing to announce a pair of the Galaxy Mega successors.

According to a report by Android Authority, a leaked document surfaced on the Web, hinting the existence of the smartphone as it gets shipped to India for further testing, or probably sale.

Dubbed as SM-G750, the alleged Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 will get smaller displays compared to their predecessors. The smaller version will pack a 5.1-inch screen while the bigger phone would get a 6-inch screen.

While there are no official details as to where the Mega 2 will be available, we expect the two phones to be unveiled in the next couple of weeks up to a month at most.

In case you are wondering about the phone's specs, rumors have it that the Mega 2 (both sizes) would pack a 720p display, a Snapdragon 800 SoC, and a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.3GHz.

If these specs are true, then it would certainly capture the attention of avid Android and Samsung fans who want the power of the Galaxy S5 but cannot afford its steep price tag.

Taking note of the previous generation models, the Galaxy Mega 2 is expected to pack a design similar to the S5, though we don't expect Samsung to go as far as placing the perforated (dotted) back cover.
