Upcoming Android Tablets 2014: Xiaomi's First Ever Tablet Leaks Online, Looks Exactly Like The iPad, With An Affordable Price Tag

Upcoming Android tablets 2014: For the past couple of years, Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has indeed taken the Android world by storm. In just a matter of months, it managed to sell millions of smartphones in China mainly because of its affordable price tag, and the sheer quality of its devices.

But it looks like Xiaomi has other things in mind.

According to a report by BGR, the Chinese brand wants to move one step further into the mobile device competition as it announced its first ever Android tablet.

Dubbed as the Mi Pad, the new Android slate has one obvious selling point - it looks exactly like the famous iPad.

With pricing beginning at only 1,499 yuan or only $240, any consumer would surely consider getting the device if his sole purpose is to get an iPad-like device.

However, the Xiaomi Mi Pad is not all looks. The Android-powered slate packs a 7.9-inch display with 2048 x 1535 resolution, one similar to the iPad mini's. It also boasts NVIDIA's latest mobile chip - the Tegra K1 processor, which has been proven to perform operations and tasks lightning fast.

Also on board is a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.2GHz, 2GB of RAM and either 16GB or 64GB of built in storage, both expandable through a microSD card slot.

Other specs include an 8MP primary camera, a 5MP front cam for selfies and video calls, and a huge 6,700mAh battery for a day's worth of entertainment and features.

In the report, the Xiaomi Mi Pad will come in different color flavors which resemble that of the iPhone 5c's color options. So thinking about this $200-Android slate, it makes you think how much Apple is earning with its own tablets that costs around $400.

We will bring you more details about the Mi Pad in the coming days.
