Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime Release Date Draws Near As Monster Phone Passes Through Bluetooth Certification

Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime release date: If the movies have Godzilla, then Samsung might just have the smartphone of all smartphones.

Ever since the start of the year, we have been reading and hearing rumors of a premium version Galaxy device from Samsung. And while we did not see it right away during the MWC in Barcelona when the S5 was launched, reports are now confirming that it will arrive.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the smartphone is tipped to pack a 5.5-inch display, QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 3GB of RAM and the latest Snapdragon 805 chipset. With those specs, this smartphone would easily take down even the current flagships this year.

Including the original Galaxy S5.

In recent reports, the premium phone dubbed the Galaxy S5 Prime would pack a metal chassis which would put the Galaxy S5's perforated (a.k.a. dot matrix) design to shame.

The high-end Android phone's features and other specs would still be preserved, including the memory, microSD card slot, the 16MP primary camera and 2MP front cam and Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat out of the box.

However, do we have proof that this device is really coming to town.

In a new report, the Galaxy S5 Prime has been spotted as it cleared Bluetooth certification. While getting Bluetooth is certainly not the point here, it just means the monster device is all set for a release in the market. But where?

Again, reports point out that the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime, or SM-G906L, would only be available in Korea. The smartphone's launch would help Samsung exterminate all other OEMs who are vying for the top spot in the Android and smartphone realm in the tech-savvy country.

Still, we will be keeping our fingers crossed that the Galaxy S5 Prime would grace our store shelves as well.
