Nokia XL Release Date Arrives In India At Only About $196, Specs Incl. 5" Display, Dual-Core CPU, 5MP Camera

Nokia XL release date: Announced during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last February, Nokia's Android family has been a little late in terms of release date, especially its biggest member, the Nokia XL.

However, in a new report, it looks like Nokia's first and last Android phablet have arrived in India.

According to the report by GSM Arena, the Android powered handset costs INR 11,489 or just around $196. Considering that this would be among Nokia's first and last Android device, the Nokia XL can already be considered a memorabilia that will certainly suit well among fans of the Finnish manufacturer.

As it name suggests, the Nokia XL is the biggest among the Nokia X siblings with its 5-inch display. Though at 800 x 480 resolution, it is certainly not something that would turn heads with the pixel density.

On board the Nokia handset is a dual-core CPU running at 1GHz, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8225 chipset, and a higher 768MB RAM. In comparison, the Nokia X and X+ only pack 512MB of RAM.

However, considering how Nokia has been doing well keeping its smartphones lag-free, it may not be a big issue after all.

Other specs of the Nokia XL include a 5MP primary camera at the back, the highest resolution among its siblings, and a 2MP front cam for selfies and video calls. There is also a dual LED flash at the back for better lighting in low light conditions.

The device comes with 4GB of internal memory, thankfully with option to go as far as 32GB storage via the microSD card slot. For consumers who have multiple phone numbers, you would also appreciate that the Nokia XL comes with dual-SIM support.

In an Indian market that has been dominated by Nokia for a long time, all the Nokia X handsets would surely become hits for the mobile department that is now part of Microsoft's mobile division.
