Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime: Could This Be The Metal-Clad Premium Version Of Tech Giant's Current Flagship Smartphone?

Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime: A few months ago, a Samsung exec directly denied rumors that the Korean tech giant is working on a premium version of its current flagship, the Galaxy S5.

However, recent rumors, reports and leaks are all pointing to such a device, dubbed as the Galaxy S5 Prime.

Now, in a new report by GSM Arena, a couple of images give us a glimpse of how the higher-end model of the Galaxy S5 would look like.

In the image above, the front display looks like the Galaxy S5, though the Prime would reportedly get a QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) screen. There are also some aesthetic changes, such as the speaker being moved to the bottom of the device.

Meanwhile, at the back lies the reportedly better back design and material. And as we can see, it looks like Samsung has ditched the plastic cover and placed a matte-metal finish back cover. It would surely be something to be excited at especially for Samsung fans who have wished for such a device for years.

However, what's strange is that we cannot see any LED flash and other sensors in the alleged Galaxy S5 Prime's back. As a result, it makes the entire back cover more like a protective case rather than a real back cover.

Other rumored specs of the device include a Snapdragon 805 chipset, a quad-core CPU, 3GB of RAM, the same 16MP primary camera at the back, and 2MP front shooter, and hopefully a bigger battery to power the bigger and more gorgeous screen.

According to some reports, Samsung's move to develop a bigger and better Galaxy S5 has been the effect of several threats in its home market in South Korea. Some manufacturers such as LG, Oppo and Pantech are aggressively trying to take the crown off from Samsung.
