Nexus 10 2 Release Date Still Happening? Google Developing Device With Codename Flounder; Ebay Offers Discounted Price For First Gen 10-Inch Android Tablet

Despite rumors of being axed, Nexus 10 2 release date might still happen.

According to Christian Post, there is still a chance for tech fans to see a Nexus 10 2 release date as Google is now working on a device with codename Flounder. Can Flounder be the Nexus 10?

Reportedly, the device with codename Flounder is either a smartphone or a tablet. Citing 9to5 Google website, Flounder is powered by Cortex-A15 processor. The post also noted that Flounder could be a device launching under Google's Android Silver line.

The internet search giant usually utilizes marine life as codes for its Nexus devices that are currently under development. The first-generation of Nexus 10 got a codename Mantaray, while Nexus 5 used Hammerhead.

Meanwhile, Nexus 10 2 release date rumors intensified even more when Ebay offered a discounted price for the first generation of Google's 10-inch Nexus tablet. Nexus 10 2 predecessor is available on eBay for only $270 and it comes with the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

However, the latest grapevines about Nexus 10 2 release date suggested that the tablet might be replaced by a 12-inch slate. Citing Motoring Crunch, rumors claim that Nexus 12 will be released by Google, following Samsung's launching of its own set of 12-inch Android tablets.

If Nexus 10 2 release date will push through, some of the alleged specs for the tablet are 10.1- inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600p, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Furthermore, Nexus 10 2 might also have 8 MP rear camera and 2.1MP for the front. Nexus 10 2 is also expected to be powered by 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor or the NVIDIA Tegra 4, 3GB RAM and Adreno 330 GPU, according to a separate report on Christian today.  16 GB and 32 GB models for Nexus 10 2 might be released in the market.
