Upcoming Nokia Phones 2015: Android-Powered Nokia X Will Get Successor Next Year, X2 Rumored To Get Quad-Core CPU, 1GB RAM, Priced At $100

Upcoming Nokia phones 2015: We know that we are only approaching the middle of 2014, but it looks like we already have rumors roaming around about Nokia's upcoming smartphone.

Nokia may be a part of Microsoft now, but a new report from GSM Arena reports that sources say the Finnish brand is still eager to launch a successor of its Android-powered Nokia X.

Launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last February, the Nokia X is any Nokia fan's dream - an actual Android running smartphone from his favorite manufacturer.

However, not a few people were disappointed to know that the device would not be running any native Google apps and services. To make it worse, the Nokia X, including its two other siblings the Nokia X+ and XL would not have Play Store access.

Nokia replaced the Play Store and placed its own Nokia app store which is only exclusive for Nokia devices which run on Android.

The report says that the Nokia X successor, fittingly dubbed the Nokia X2 would pack slightly higher specs than the original, including a quad-core CPU which could run as high as 1.2 or 1.5GHz, a higher Snapdragon chipset, 1GB of RAM which is an improvement to the current 512MB RAM, and 4GB of internal storage, hopefully with microSD card support.

So what's special about this rumored Nokia handset which could debut in 2015? Well, nothing remarkable really, except that it is a Nokia phone running on Android, performs surprsingly well in an alleged benchmark, and only costs $100.

Even if you are not a fan of the Finnish brand, you can save up a little and actually try the smartphone, or even make it as a secondary phone.

We will bring you more details about the Nokia X2 in the coming weeks and months. For now, you may want to take it with a pinch of salt.
