Robert Pattinson hates 'Twilight' news started to circulate when the British hunk said quite unpleasant things about the fans of the vampire flick. Despite such reports, his co-star Kellan Lutz admires his passion for his craft.

During the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival, the two 'Twilight' hunks have been reunited. Pattinson is promoting his film 'Maps to the Stars' whereas Lutz was there for 'The Expendables 3'. The 'Hercules' actor feels "great" that he was able to see the success of Kristen Stewart's former beau.

"I think one of the great things talking with Rob after we did Twilight stuff is he just doesn't care about the money. He's doing good work and he wants to work with great directors and great actresses and actors and working with great material, as we all should," said Lutz.

Lutz likewise does not believe that Robert Pattinson hates 'Twilight' because the film has been a blessing for the cast members: "I think that the blessing of being part of the Twilight franchise is it's given us this safety net."

Speculations that Robert Pattinson hates 'Twilight' can be credited to his previous conversation with Interview magazine where he indirectly criticized the vampire flick's fans: "Twilight has its own parallel world, its own fan culture that has been forming on the net since day one. And in an intense way that has never existed before. Sometimes I ask myself what these masses of people do the whole day. They sit in front of their computers and comment on anything having even remotely to do with Twilight. Day and night."

He likewise told InTouch magazine about his aversion to the nickname "R-Pattz": "I'd like to strangle the guy who came up with it...some fat celebrity blogger." Fans speculated that he was pertaining to Perez Hilton.

Regardless of his previous interviews, Lutz continued praising the 'Water for Elephants' actor and even predicted that he'd soon win an Oscar for his skills: "He has the chops and he's doing what he loves to do and I'm so proud of him for everything that he's doing."
