Gary, member of the Korean hip hop/R&B group Leessang, has gained the rare attention of fans in China as of late.

The rapper will be holding a solo fan meeting on June 8 in Hong Kong at the Tseung Kwan O Metro City shopping mall. A rep for Gary's agency, Leessang Company, confirmed the news to the Korean publication Newsen recently.

This upcoming fan meeting is a big deal for Gary as well as the Korean hip-hop scene because it's a sign that the interest of overseas fans is continuously expanding.

International fans who have solely been interested in K-Pop have been slowly gaining interest in the hip-hop scene in Korea as well. Leessang's agency has reportedly been receiving many requests from other countries to hold events and concerts for their global fan base.

Gary's music career is skyrocketing outside of Leessang. The rapper released his duet song with singer Jung In titled "Your Scent" on May 27 and has already topped China's Weibo search ranking on May 28, according to Allkpop.

The ever-so-talented musician first debuted in 2002 as part of the hip-hop duo Leessang, along with fellow rapper and singer Gil.

The duo produced 8 albums, with songs that have put the two on the map in the Korean music industry.

Leessang became a part of the mainstream Korean music scene after their three most recent albums, "Hexagonal," "Asura Balbalta" and "Unplugged," broke multiple records.

Gary has been receiving quite a bit of attention, not only for his rapping skills, but also for his appearance on the Korean variety show "Running Man."

He was a surprise guest at the Drama Fever Awards this year and even went up on stage at the New York City ceremony to accept the award for the Best Variety Show.

"You guys look so happy. I am going to take the memory of your happy faces and spirit back with me to everyone at 'Running Man,'" stated Kang Gary.
