Earlier this week, a rumor started on Twitter that Liam Payne and his ex girlfriend Danielle Peazer are dating again. For over an hour, "#PAYZERISBACK" was a trending topic, causing One Direction fans to go on a frenzy, J-14 magazine reports.

But why did this all start?

According to Unreality TV, Danielle Peazer responded to a Directioner on Twitter when she asked Liam Payne's ex girlfriend: "@DaniellePeazer hello please send Liam a text and ask him what's wrong."

Danielle replied quickly, posting: "@sexavecstyles he is ok x"

The fact that Danielle and Liam were still in contact got fans very excited about a possible reconciliation, but it seems unlikely.

Doesn't sound like love is in the air!

Liam Payne dated Danielle for two and a half years. Soon after their break up, the 20-year-old One Direction singer started dating Sophia Smith in July 2013. They broke up a few weeks ago after eight months of dating.

As we reported earlier, Liam posted a series of depressing Twitter messages on May 2, signaling to fans that he had ended his relationship with Sophia:

"Can't be without you"

"Worse thing I ever did was let you go"

"No all I got left is the thought of you."

The tweets were so heart-breaking that the hashtag "#CheerUpLiam" started trending, thanks to One Direction fans trying to bring a smile to Liam's face.

"They were spending too much time apart and it's only going to get worse this year - the band going on a super long tour, her getting busier with university," a source said about the couple, according to The Hollywood Gossip.

"Too much long distance," the source added. "It was draining for the both of them and led to a lot of arguments. Liam was the one who chose to end it."

"There was no way to maintain the relationship," a second source said. "He had to do it as they would never see each other and he didn't think it was fair."
