Martin Lawrence Kelsey Grammer Comedy `Partners’ Premieres in Back to Back Episodes Before `Anger Management’

Martin Lawrence and Kelsey Grammer's new comedy "Partners" will premiere on Monday, August 4 on FX.

For five straight weeks, "Partners" will air two back-to-back episodes of the show from 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT right before new episodes of Charlie Sheen's "Anger Management." FX ordered 10 episodes of
"Partners." If it goes well, the show will sign up to produce an additional 90 episodes. FX developed "Anger Management," the comedy starring Charlie Sheen, the same way. The deal was part of a syndication model that Debmar-Mercury crafted for multiple sitcoms.

Kelsey Grammer, Martin Lawrence are 'Partners' for FX comedy premiering Aug. 4. Partners, will pair the two TV giants as "Chicago lawyers from very different backgrounds who unexpectedly meet in court as they each face a personal crisis." Martin Lawrence will play Marcus Jackson. Kelsey Grammer will play Allen Braddock.

This is the first time the two huge comic actors Martin Lawrence and Kelsey Grammer have played together on the screen. On any screen, big or small.

Partners marks the first time Martin Lawrence has been on television in almost 20 years. He's made movies and done stand-up tours but only made scattered TV appearances. The Martin Lawrence starred in "Bad Boys" with Will Smith and the film "Big Momma." Lawrence is probably most famous for his long-running TV show "Martin".

Kelsey Grammer is famous for his role as Frasier Crane, which he played in the long-running hit series "Cheers" and its long-running spin-off series "Frasier." Between the two shows, Frasier Crane was the longest-running character on TV, tying 'Marshal Matt Dillon' from Gunsmoke who was played by James Arness, at 20 years. (The real winner so far is the character Nancy Hughes who was played by Helen Wagner for 54 years on As the World Turns.) Grammer was last seen in the lead role in the Starz political drama "Boss."

Partners will also star TV actresses Telma Hopkins (Family Matters, Half & Half), McKaley Miller (Hart of Dixie), as well as film and Broadway stars Rory O'Malley, Edi Patterson, and Danièle Watts.
