L.A. was down 3-0 in the first period, but actually rallied its way back to a 4-3 lead heading into the third period. That's when the Blackhawks tied it up early on in the third. The game went to overtime, but the Kings were unable to capitalize on their opportunities and gave up a goal during the second OT.

"Maybe they're feeling [momentum], but we know we're not going to allow that to happen," defenseman Drew Doughty, who led the Kings with nine shots and 39:04 of ice time told NHL.com. "We're confident here. We know we could have won that game [Wednesday]. We just had a bad start. We're not going to allow them to take the crowd out. We're not going to allow them to get the early start. It's going to be the other way around this time. "

Chicago is two wins away from building onto the dynasty that these core players have created over the last few seasons. The Blackhawks have hoisted Lord Stanley two times within the last three seasons. A comeback down 3-1 in the series would further cement said dynasty.

"I think we're going to consider ourselves a team that has a chance to win every year, every time we reach the playoffs for a number of years after this year," captain Jonathan Toews said Thursday. "But it doesn't mean that we're going to be satisfied with that and say, 'OK, maybe this year isn't our year.' I think we have a group that understands the opportunity we have and that it doesn't make any sense to pass that up."

Despite coach Joel Quenneville shortening his bench for much of the third period and overtime, plus the long flight to Los Angeles, the Blackhawks sounded refreshed and ready for Game 6, according to NHL.com.

"We know what we're capable of in our room, and we're not going to throw it away," Toews said. "We're not going to go away easy. We want to take advantage of it. We made it this far. We're going to keep fighting, and we're going to keep playing as hard as we can."
