U.S. Bilboard States Psy's 'Hangover' Ranks Third For Most Shared Song On Twitter

Psy's "Hangover" has steadily been on the rise since it was released this weekend.

The hit, which features Snoop Dogg, is the third most shared song in the last 24 hours via Twitter, according to Billboard on June 11.

Since its release at 8:10 AM KST on June 9 and 1 PM KST on iTunes, "Hangover" has continued to receive an overwhelming response from news and media outlets from all around the world.

In just 48 hours, the music video received over 30 million views and counting.

When writing the lyrics for "Hangover," Psy reportedly had no problem, as he was writing about something he knew about very well.

"Yes, I'm a heavy drinker," the "Gangnam Style" singer stated.

The 36-year-old added, "I can honestly say [I'm hungover] half of the year."

Psy stated that he immediately thought of rapper Snoop Dogg when the song's title popped into his head, according to U.S. Billboard.

"One day I wrote a hip-hop track and I thought about one catchy word. I was hungover and I thought about hangover, so I just recorded it right away. As soon as I got that hook part I thought about Snoop Dogg, because we all know he's hanging over every day," explained Psy.

Apparently the conversation the South Korean superstar had with Snoop Dogg was simple, and straight to the point.

"I called him and said 'I'm Psy, do you know me?' and he was like 'What?' I said 'Can you feature on my song' and he's asking the title and I say 'Hangover.' And he said 'Oh, I'm doing it.' So, that's how we met," stated Psy.

The singer also revealed that he's come to terms with the fact that he won't be able to beat the extreme success of his single "Gangnam Style," which recently became the most viewed video on YouTube.

"I cannot beat that song forever. How can I beat a song that has 2 billion views?" asked Psy.
