A horde of "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" rumors have been released, spilling out into the Justice League. Warner is clear to have a long term plan, and they have a very familiar ultimate villain in mind.

Based on a tweet from The Wrap, Warner/DC is treading a path similar to Marvel-at least as far as the villain is concerned. It is identified as Darkseid.

From the DC wiki:

"Darkseid is the ruler of Apokolips and Darkseid's Elite and was a major player in the cosmic war that was the Final Crisis. Unto the hell that is Apokolips came Darkseid, pure hatred personified, a merciless tyrant who demanded unwavering devotion and abject fear from all his subjects. A being of unparalleled strength, Darkseid nevertheless preferred not to sully his gloves with combat unless provoked to action. His eyes emitted the formidable Omega Sanction, ray beams that could disintegrate, teleport, or resurrect depending on the dread lord's wishes. His sole mission in life was to find and gain control over the Anti-Life Equation which would give him the means to usurp all free will in the sentient universe."

Does this imply that the Justice League storyline may follow the Apokolips storyline?

Based on the same tweet, one of the cult favorites of the Justice League team probably won't make it.

From a podcast called Scriptnotes, along with a panel of writers they share honest, and sometimes offensive thoughts on some characters. The Martian Manhunter was not spared:

"Well, he hasn't been rebooted but he's a mainstay in the Justice League. He can't be ****ing called the Martian Manhunter because that's goofy. He can be called Manhunter... The whole deal with Martian Manhunter is he's an alien living amongst us... So he comes down to Earth and decides, unlike Superman who already exists in the world now, that he's just going to be a homicide detective... So instead of using super powers and mind-reading and like, oh, I could figure out if the President's lying or whatever, he just decides to disguise himself as a human homicide detective. Dare to dream!"

Of course, these are still speculations and Warner or DC have not aired any official comments. Things could still change.
