[ Exclusive Photo Interview] Sunghoon

I can offer my heart (the organ) to the woman I love!

 The day after starring in musical "SUMMER SNOW," Sunghoon offered his time for an exclusive interview. The next day awaits his revisit to fans just after two months since the previous fan meeting (March). Those who have joined his fan meeting would be excited to experience his straightforward talk and active motions. This time around, the photo session with KpopStarz captured both Sunghoon's carefree cheerfulness and his cool side. The interview started from the topic on his musical which had just concluded.  

◆Great work on musical "SUMMER SNOW."

Sunghoon: Thank you.

◆In the last fan meeting ,you said "I am not good at singing." Why did you decide to star in a musical?

Sunghoon: (To the CEO) Why? Why did it happen?

CEO: In order to improve his singing skills, it was decided that he would do a musical.

◆So it was not Sunghoon's own desire to try it?

Sunghoon: Where can I start the story... (laughter)

◆Please start from anywhere you'd like. Feel free to be honest! (laughter)

Sunghoon: Ok. I did have the desire to experience the acting stage, but musical was not in my radar. There is only one reason to star in "SUMMER SNOW" in Japan. It will give me an opportunity to meet Japanese fans apart from fan meetings. I am really not good at singing, but I decided to join the musical for the sake of my fans. There was no other reason. I chose to star in it for fans.  

◆Sunghoon's role of Doctor YoonJae had scenes of solo singing. How did find it?

Sunghoon: I want to ask you back. How was my singing? (Laughter) I did my best because of the good role like YoonJae, but still my singing expression is....   

◆ Do you feel like you have regrets?

Sunghoon: I don't have regrets. I did my best in singing with the maximum strength I had.

◆Playing YoonJae who that holds unrequited love, did you find any common point or any feeling you could share with the role?  

Sunghoon: Theatrically it was not a difficult role. He is someone who continues to love one woman, and even if she loves someone else, he would accept and endure it... you mean if I have something in common with him? No way! Haha. 

◆But in the story, his rival passed away in an accident. The story ends there, but opportunities may arise to attract her.

Sunghoon: Even then, from YoonJae's position, it would still be heartbreaking. The woman he loves has her lover's heart transplanted inside of her, so wouldn't the one with the greatest pain be YoonJae who loves her?

...Oh! I now know what our commonality is! When there was a car accident, I could imagine the feelings of those around the scene. Rather than the main characters, the surrounding people would be more shocked.

◆If you were the victim of such an accident, can you say "Please use my heart" and offer your heart to the one you love?  

Sunghoon: If it was a casual relationship, it may be difficult. But if it's someone with whom I have promised to marry, I have the determination to give my heart. 

◆Wow, that's great!

Sunghoon: But it's probably not just me. Many men would be the same, I suppose.

◆By the way, speaking of Sunghoon, we think of DJ play! It was my first time to see an actor get excited at DJ play in a fan meeting. I was shocked. (Laughter)

Sunghoon: Haha. Are you serious? (Laughter)

◆I bet fans were also shocked. (Laughter)

Sunghoon: Haha! Fans are probably not accustomed to it either. I am in the middle of spreading how fun DJ is.

◆Did you brush up your DJ skills since then?

Sunghoon: Thanks to "SUMMER SNOW," where do you think I could find time to practice DJ? (Laughter)

After the last fan meeting, I practiced for hours every day. But since practice for "SUMMER SNOW" began, I had to focus on the musical and could not spend time playing DJ. Once I return to Korea, I am thinking to learn from a DJ instructor!

◆What is the screensaver of Sunghoon's smartphone?

Sunghoon: What are they wondering about? (Laughter) On the phone I am using now, it's just the initial screen at the time of purchase.

◆What is Sunghoon's motto?

Sunghoon: It's a phrase that came out in comic "Fullmetal Alchemist." It goes "For a man to gain something, he must pay its price." 

◆Some fans think that Sunghoon is quite a mysterious character. (Laughter)

Sunghoon: Me? Well, I know I am not so normal. (Laughter)

◆Oh, you admitted it! (Laughter)

Sunghoon: No, I don't! I am normal! ^^ (With a fun smile)

◆That's the end of the questions from readers. By the way, do you have some tips in you airport fashion?

Sunghoon: Before, CEO would tell me, "Go with flashy outfit!" But my fashion theme now is to wear normal clothes and make a point with the bag.   

◆I checked out your airport fashion when you arrived Japan this time! The collar of your grey t-shirt was wide open, and fans are commenting, "Sexy!" (Laughter)

Sunghoon: Because it's so hot in summer, right? Hahaha!

◆It seems you are a good friend with the CEO.

Sunghoon: (Glancing over to the CEO) Well, maybe. (Laughter)
