"Pirates of the Caribbean 5" release date is still uncertain but "Dead Men Tell No Tales" producer Jerry Bruckheimer said they are working on it and cast Johnny Depp is excited with filming.

"It's hopefully moving forward. Johnny is excited about it, obviously Disney is, we're excited about it. So hopefully we'll get that going this fall or end of the year if everything lines up properly," Jerry Bruckheimer told Coming Soon when prodded for the "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" release date.

He also said that they hope to bring in back Keith Richards, as "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" character Captain Jack Sparrow's father, and find a spot for him in the story. "I hope so. We'd love to have him back, so we'll see."

During the third day of the 54^th Monte-Carlo Television Festival, Jerry Bruckheimer was also asked by First Coast News about the "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" release date. He said there's going to be "a new adventure for Johnny Depp, Captain Jack" and they look forward to starting production soon.

Disney chairman Alan Horn, however, said the "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" might possibly begin production this fall.

"It's possible. We haven't seen a screenplay yet that I've been able to sign off on," he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "There's a lot of variables that affect the final outcome once it leaves the studio lot, so we are very careful."

The "Pirates of the Carribean 5" filming could be derailed even further as the "The Brig Unicorn," a ship featured prominently in the series, sunk in a freak accident off the coast of the Grenadines and St. Vincent Saturday.

According to MailOnline, the pirate ship-built in 1948 in Finland-was on its way for repairs when it sank. The captain and the nine-member crew escaped unharmed.

Fans of the "Pirates of the Carribean" series would recognize the sunk ship as The Henrietta in "The Curse of the Black Pearl" and the Terrasaw in "Dead Man's Chest" and "At World's End."
