Casey Kasem Dead But Memories To Be Relived In ‘Scooby Doo’ Movie 2014 Reboot? Producers To Ditch Computer Imagery In Exchange Of Real Great Dane

Casey Kasem dead news left his fans mourning but Warner Brothers expressed its interest in reliving the voice actor's memories by planning to create a 'Scooby Doo' movie 2014 reboot. Kasem, who passed away on Father's Day, was the voice of the beloved dog's owner, Shaggy.

In 2002, Warner Brothers already released a live-action movie which starred Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard, Isla Fisher, Linda Cardellini, and Freddie Prinze Jr. Scooby, on the other hand, was a product of computer-generated imagery.

The James Gunn-directed film made over $275 million with its worldwide release. The story revolved around a gang who solved crimes. Deadline reports that Warner Brothers will be creating an entirely new story and that Randall Green has been asked to pen the script.

Instead of using a CGI-produced Scooby, the 'Scooby Doo' movie 2014 reboot will reportedly feature a real Great Dane. Some of the notable films which used real dogs include "Hachi: A Dog's Tale," "Marley and Me," "Eight Below," "Beethoven," and "Lassie Come Home."

The show originally aired from 1969 to 1975 on CBS although several reboots have been created.

Meanwhile, Kasem's funeral will be taking place on Saturday as per Us Weekly: "[Casey's kids] Kerri, Mike, and Julie Kasem will hold a private memorial service for family and friends on Saturday."

The location wasn't disclosed for the family wanted the funeral to be as private as possible. The legendary radio host passed away at the age of 92 after being hospitalized for infections. Dementia also made him bedridden prior to his death.
