Halle Berry Lands On TV After A Year In Space; Halle Berry's Baby Bump Is Out of This World

Halle Berry is returning to TV in the upcoming CBS series "Extant." Halle Berry is making the move from big screen to back to small in this summer's CBS television series "Extant," a new sci-fi show produced by Steven Spielberg and his Amblin Television team.


While the X-Men star is frequently accused of diva behavior. Halle's co-star Goran Visnjic, who plays her husband on "Extant," gushed about starring with th Oscar winning actress saying 'She's always on time, and she's prepared and ready. But [also] the things like generosity towards everybody on a set." 


Berry plays Molly Wood, Halle an astronaut who spent a year on a solo mission in outer space and comes back pregnant. Annie Wersching plays Femi Dodd, a rival of John Wood, Molly's scientist husband, played by Goran Visnjic. Michael O'Neill plays Alan Sparks, the head of the international space exploration agency.


Halle Berry comes back from deep space, where she's been on a solo mission, and she's got an alien baby bump. Not just that Halle Berry's baby bump is alien to her, but it is alien to the planet.


Nina Tassler, chairman of CBS Entertainment, Tassler told the crowd at the California Science Center "['Extant'] was a powerful and unique story, and we were instantly captivated when Academy Award-winner Halle Berry joined the project. Her enormous talent and presence elevated the series to a new stratosphere. Getting Halle Berry was one of the biggest coups of the year for television."


"The script was just amazing," Berry told the Los Angeles Times. "I hadn't read anything like it. And Steven Spielberg, I mean, he's the king. If you're gonna do TV about extraterrestrials and sci-fi and supernatural, I think he's a good one to do it with."
