‘Harry Potter’ Star Tom Felton Has Fans Who Urge Him To Legally Change Name To Draco Malfoy; Brit Actor Talks About Dog’s Death

Even if the 'Harry Potter' film franchise ended two years ago, some fans still couldn't get over with their admiration for the wizard movie's stars. Tom Felton, whose role is troubled wizard Draco Malfoy, admits that he still gets quirky gifts and proposals from girls who are obsessed with his cunning character.

"It's always a bit of fun for me, the dark side of things. I'm not actually thinking of being a reckless criminal or evil mastermind. And some people are," he told People magazine.

"Some people revel in the darker side of it, which is a little odd. I've had a couple of proposals from people who want to adopt me. A few requests to change my name legally to Malfoy. Gifts of homemade potions and spells. I have to admire the level of dedication," said the 26-year-old.

In 2011, the Slytherin wizard recalled one request that he received to GQ: "One guy wanted to adopt me. He'd legally changed his name to Lucius Malfoy and wanted to be a happy family. He didn't get a reply."

Malfoy recently graced the pre-opening of Diagon Alley, the latest attraction added to Universal Studios' Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida.

Despite the admiration that he gets from fans, the 'Harry Potter' star still feels devastated because of the death of Timber, his 7-year-old Chesapeake Bay retriever.

"She wasn't well a few months ago in Los Angeles and she got diagnosed with cancer. We had to take her back to London and she passed away a few weeks ago. She was a very sweet soul and she'll be missed," said the British actor in the same interview with People.

Felton is currently starring as a tech industry expert turned crime suspect in the new TNT series, 'Murder in the First.'
