Coen Brothers Announce Cast For Next Movie 'Hail Caesar:' Channing Tatum, Ralph Fiennes and Tilda Swinton To Join George Clooney and Josh Brolin: About A 'Fixer' In 1950's Hollywood [PHOTO]

The Coen Brothers have announced the cast for their newest movie "Hail Caesar." At first, to be perfectly honest, it was easy to write of Channing Tatum as another pretty face that was in the movies to be attractive, but he has been choosing some interesting parts against that perception and his latest role may just catapult him into the ranks of bonafide actors. Channing Tatum, Ralph Fiennes, and Tilda Swinton are all in negotiations to join Coen Brothers alums George Clooney and Josh Brolin in the Hollywood period piece, hearkening back to Hollywood's golden age.

The Coen Brothers' most recent film " Hail Caesar" is a comedy about Eddie Mannix, a fixer who worked for the Hollywood studios in the 1950's. For those of you not familiar with what that would entail, Hollywood used to have pretty strict "moral" codes that their actors were not allowed to violate. If an actor did something sordid, this guy would come in and cover it up. Essentially, "The Wolf" from "Pulp Fiction" with less brains and more naked pictures.

Tatum's role is described as a Gene Kelly- type star. Ralph Fiennes would play Laurence Lorenz, a studio director, and Tilda Swinton will portray a powerful Hollywood gossip columnist. For those of you who don't know who Gene Kelly is, he was the clean cut, straight edge, go-to, dance guy for decades, when dancing was still a big part of Hollywood. ( Family Guy fans may recognize him from the cutaway where Stewie tap-dances with a man in a sailor suit)

Channing Tatum's  most recently starred in the hit comedy sequel "22 Jump Street. 22 Jump Street. His upcoming films include the Wachowski's sci-fi epic "Jupiter Ascending" and wrestling drama "Foxcatcher." Tilda Swinton's recent credits include "Snowpiercer" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel."

Ralph Fiennes also starred in Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel," "Skyfall," as well as "The Invisible Woman," which he directed.

The Coen Brothers are producing under their Mike Zoss Productions banner alongside Working Title Films' Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan. Universal is distributing the movie.
