Expendables 4 May Cast Pierce Brosnan Before For Expendables 3 Release Date: Can 'James Bond' Star Save Sylvester Stallone Franchise? [PHOTO]

"The Expendables" franchise will be getting another aging action hero to its growing cast. Pierce Brosnan has said that he would like to join the cast of "Expendables 4."

"Expendables 3" comes to theaters August 15, its massive cast includes Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Kellan Lutz, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Terry Grammer, and Randy Couture. With the cast of aging action stars growing each movie, and selling point of each movie is to see iconic 80's action stars keep being action stars past the age where that makes any sense, one has to wonder how many "Expendables" movies they can actually do before they run out of actors to cast on to the next project.

"It's just about entertainment. Avi is somebody I've heard about and his movies always have big brash entertainment value to them. You can really change the world and that's great, but 'The Expendables'? Yeah, I'd love to do 'The Expendables.' It's just a kick in the pants."

"I said to [producer] Avi Lerner, 'If it works out and you have a good script, Avi, you know where to find me if you still want me'," Brosnan explained. "It's as simple as that really.

Brosnan went on to say, "I had a grand time in his company. Sylvester Stallone is the one that's given us these wonderful platforms for actors who have and had careers to go play and have fun and to entertain. To bring a bunch of guys together who saved the world, fought the bad guys, and put them all on the same stage, that's crazy good."

Brosnan has previously said that he has been approached for the franchise. "Expendables 2" made 85 million total domestic gross, so it is a safe bet that they will keep making "Expendables" movies, and if they do it is a safe bet that Brosnan will be cast in one of them.
