U.S. Billboard Praises Big Bang Taeyang's Artistic Work For Solo Album, 'RISE'

Taeyang continues to gain international recognition for his latest album "Rise."

U.S. Billboard put the spotlight on the Big Bang member in an article on July 3, praising the 26-year-old R&B singer for his work.

Big Bang's lead vocalist, Taeyang, released his second solo album last month and has "managed to enrapture K-pop fans from all around the globe all over again," wrote the music magazine.

"Rise" reached No. 112 on the Billboard 200, setting a new record for a Korean solo act.

Billboard revealed that "Rise" has a total of nine songs that showcase how much Taeyang has "upgraded" since his last solo album back in 2010.

During his interview with Billboard, Taeyang stated, "I was not happy with some parts of the album, but was so thankful that everyone enjoyed my music."

The dancer has been known to be all about his fans, even holding several successful fan meetings while promoting his new album. Taeyang has continued to get the love of fans and those in the music industry with his single, winning this week's episode of "M! Countdown" once again, according to Allkpop.

Taeyang revealed that his experiences as a solo artist and as a member of Big Bang is actually not vastly different.

"I used to think the two were very different, but now I think that wall has been torn down. I can show my characteristics and musical colors both as a member of Big Bang and as a solo artist. I don't feel anything is significantly different. It's just that as a solo artist, I have more burden and responsibilities on my shoulders," stated the "Eyes, Nose, Lips" singer.

The singer also opened about his personal connections to one specific track on "Rise" during his interview.

"I feel connected to every single song on the album, but what fits closest to my current sensibility and musical preference is 'Love You To Death.' The musical style and sound of 'Love You To Death' is something I wanted to do from the moment I started working on this album," stated Taeyang.

He added, "It's a very masculine track with dramatic lyrics. I think the sincerity of the lyrics have been beautifully incorporated into the song. 'Love You To Death' is the most suitable song to express my current emotions and vibe."
