Top Android Games 2014: Angry Birds Get 'South HAMerica' Update, Still The Same Old Game

For the past few years, Rovio's well loved target shooting game has been one of the most popular games for the smartphone. And even this year, Angry Birds remain as among the top Android games for 2014 as far as the number of downloads is concerned.

Now, after several months with no updates, Angry Birds Seasons has been updated once more.

Dubbed 'South HAMerica", the new update brings some new environments to the game, which should be enough to supply the much needed eye candy for experienced players.

However, in a review by Prasad of GSM Arena, it looks like the game has more old features than new ones. In his post, some of the old features which have not been updated for years are the abilities of some birds particularly the red and pink ones.

Another aspect of the game that was left untouched was its sound effects. No new effects were present. Based on the update South HAMerica, the game should have at least been more immersive, such as South American background music, and more features which relate to the continent.

Still, the game is worth playing if you have already purchased Angry Birds Seasons as the update comes for free and available through the Play Store.

However, if you havent' played this version of Angry Birds before, then you can look for other more interesting options.

Through the years, Rovio transformed from a game developer into a marketing giant that only sells anything related to Angry Birds. For the past months, there has been plenty of new 'Angry Birds'-inspired games by Rovio including the Go-Kart style Angry Birds Go, the RPG Angry Birds Epic, and the all-female Angry Birds Stella.

We can only imagine what types of games Rovio has in store that can be taken out of the Angry BIrds story.
