Wonder Girls Yenny To Perform Korea National Anthem At Texas 'Korean American Heritage Night'

The members of Wonder Girls haven't left the entertainment industry, despite the group's current hiatus.

A member of the popular girl group, Yenny, will be singing the Korean national anthem at the U.S. Texas Rangers "Korean American Heritage Night" on July 11, according to JYP Entertainment.

The event will be held by Arlington Global Life. Yenny will be the first celebrity to sing the Korean national anthem at the Texas Rangers Stadium.

The singer will also be participating in baseball player CHoo Shin Shoo's fan meeting, which is part of the highly anticipated event.

This isn't the first time an idol member visited the States to sing the Korean national anthem at a baseball game. In May, CNBLUE member Jung Yong Hwa also performed at the LA Dodgers Stadium in lieu of the Korean American event that was held there.

Both current and former members of Wonder Girls have been making headlines as of late by progressing further into different parts of the entertainment industry.

JYP Entertainment has confirmed that the youngest member of the idol group, Hyelim, will be making her acting debut through a Korean-Chinese movie titled "Takhonyeonmaeng," according to Hellokpop.

The film will be directed by Kim Tae-gyoon and will be set in Busan. The movie will reportedly premiere in China in the second half of this year.

Hyelim will be playing a college student in her 20's.

Former member Sohee has also returned to the industry as an actress. The former idol member recently discussed the difference between her persona as a singer and an actress during her interview for the July issue of Allure Korea, according to the publication Mwave.

"It's similar in that I have to express my feelings and convey them but the difference is the preparing process. When I'm singing, I have to perfectly solidify the process in my body wheras when I'm acting I have to act before a certain frame becomes solidified," stated An Sohee.

The 22-year-old added, "I think it's important for me to work hard as an actress who's just starting off. I think that's the respect I can show to all those who showed love and anticipation for my new venture. I want to focus on working this summer. I am working hard to greet fans through a good project."
