Houston Rockets Offseason Plans Fail! Chandler Parsons 'Offended' By Former Teams' Treatment! Will The Rockets End Up As The Biggest Loser?

The Houston Rockets were the most ambitious team in the offseason, as they publicly pursued almost every big name in free agency and even in trades. Far from what they were planning, they almost came up empty-handed as they failed to take care of players in their own fold.

This was the accusation that was hurled by former Rocket and now Dallas Maverick Chandler Parsons. He spoke with Yahoo Sports:

"Honestly, I was offended by the whole process. They publicly said that they were going out looking for a third star when I thought they had one right in front of them. I guess that's just how they viewed me as a player. I don't think I've scratched the surface of where I can be as a player and I think I'm ready for that role."

Parsons was having career numbers last season. He was also partly responsible for recruiting Dwight Howard.

"You can't knock them for always trying to get better. [Houston general manager] Daryl Morey is very aggressive, is a genius, a great GM and I have nothing but respect for those guys. And they are looking to make their team better. That's what they were doing. I just thought I could be that guy that could do that."

Eventually, Morey had to pay the price for his ambition and impatience. In-state competitors Dallas Mavericks were ready to pounce on their mistake.

About the Mavericks, specifically owner Mark Cuban: "They really showed how much they cared for me,They didn't want me to wait for Bosh. They didn't want me to wait for 'Melo. They came forward first."

Parsons final gripe was that the Rockets' led him on."Throughout the whole process they pretty much told me they were going to match everything. I understand it's a business. I understand they had to do what they thought was best for their organization. It definitely caught me off-guard a little bit."

Houston also had negative publicity when they showed pictures of Carmelo Anthony wearing Jeremy Lin's jersey number 7 even before they traded him. Lin publicly called out his team's disrespect.

Now, the Rockets' only haul consists of Trevor Ariza. They missed out on all of their major free agent and trade targets, They also lost Omer Asik, Jeremy Lin and Chandler Parsons. Unless they turn things around, they would be the biggest losers of the offseason.
