Conan O'Brien To Preform "The Monorail Song" At Live Simpsons Show 'The Simpsons Live At The Bowl' Joining Weird Al Yankovic And Jon Lovitz [VIDEO]

Conan O'Brien has spent years on late night, producing for TV, and acting. Unfortunately none of that really tops "Marge Vs. The Monorail," which O'Brien wrote for The Simpsons more than 20 years ago. Largely conisdered one of the best episodes of one of the best shows of all time.

In an interview with Buzzfeed UK, O'Brien revealed that he'll soon be revisiting the tale that put Brockway, Ogdenville, and North Haverbrook on the map. As part of the Hollywood Bowl's celebration of The Simpsons' 25th anniversary, O'Brien will take on the role of fast-talking con-man Lyle Lanley and perform "The Monorail Song" with the Gay Men's Chorus Of Los Angeles.

"...Two days before I left to come to England my phone rang and it was The Simpsons. And they said that they were doing a live show at the Hollywood Bowl, and all the actors are going to do the voices, and, 'Would you be a special guest star and sing 'The Monorail Song' with the Los Angeles Gay Men's Choir?' And the answer there is 'YES,' so I am going to do that I think in September."

The concert, hosted by Hank Azaria and featuring performances from most of the show's cast, is set for early September.

"Simpsons" voice actors and Matt Groening will be on hand at the orchestra-backed show to re-enact classic moments and provide anecdotes. Many former guests stars-including Jon Lovitz and Weird Al-are making appearances.

In an interview with Buzzfeed UK, O'Brien revealed that the "Simpsons" folks called him up to ask if he'd perform the "Monorail" number with the Los Angeles Gay Men's Chorus. O'Brien agreed.

'The Simpsons Take the Bowl' runs September 12-14 at the Hollywood Bowl. Ticket information and times can be found here.

He'll be gliding softly like a cloud for a live performance of the "Monorail Song," the iconic musical number that O'Brien co-wrote for the Simpsons episode "Marge vs. the Monorail," widely considered one of the series' finest moments. O'Brien revealed this wonderful bit of news in an interview with Buzzfeed while discussing the longevity of that story's impact. He says fans will still bring up "Marge vs. the Monorail" with him, quoting lines that he has long forgotten. And here's what he had to say about the live show.

Let's celebrate by singing along with that shyster Lyle Lanley in the video below.

This won't be the first time that O'Brien will lend a voice to a Simpsons character, as his late night gig made a cameo on the episode "Bart Gets Famous."

What other surprises can audiences expect from "The Simpsons Live at the Bowl?" Perhaps a 200-foot-tall chalkboard? A Duff blimp? Find out in September. The "Simpsons" will be back on Fox for its 26th season this fall.
