This Week Another New Update From Facebook To Let Users Have More Control Of Their Posts

Facebook has introduced Privacy Basics to let users have more control over their updates on the most popular social media-networking site.

"Today, we're introducing Privacy Basics which gives you tips and a how-to guide for taking charge of your experience on Facebook. We're also proposing updates to our terms, data and policy and cookies policy to reflect new features we've been working on. And we're continuing to improve ads based on the apps and sites you use and expanding your control over this kind of advertising. For the next 7 days, you'll be able to submit comments and suggestions about our updates," FB's newsroom stated in its website.

The company said that the new privacy basics will enable users learn how to untag, unfriend and block other users. It will also educate users on how to weed out audiences who can read their posts.

The launching on Thursday is helped by an interactive education center, via a blue dinosaur.

"This new way of communicating with people, using animated cartoons, using a video format, we really hope this resonates with people and that they find it helpful," Facebook Chief Privacy Officer Erin Egan was quoted as saying.

Earlier Facebook has made changes in users control over their News Feed

The latest addition in the Facebook News Feed settings is an option to unfollow any friend.

"News Feed settings will now show a list of the top people, Pages and Groups that you've seen in your News Feed over the past week. You can choose to sort by people, Pages or Groups posts, or see an overall summary. Unfollow any friend, Page or Group if you don't want to see their stories in your News Feed. You can also see who you've unfollowed in the past and can choose to re-follow them at anytime."

The updates are an apparent move of Facebook to address concerns from users about control on what they send out in the Internet.
