Nokia X vs. Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3: These Android handsets were both launched and made available this year and the Nokia X and Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 sport decent specs and an affordable price. In this review, we take the dual-SIM variant of the Nokia X and compare it with the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3, also a device with dual-SIM capabilities, and compare it in terms of price, display, camera and built.

PRICE: Based on a comparison tablet from NDTV we see that the Nokia X is cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3. According to the tablet, purchasing it from Snapdeal.com would set you back RS 5,405 while getting a Duos 3 from the same site will cost you RS 7,127. Amazon India seels the Nokia X for RS 5,399 and the S Duos 3 for RS 7,280. In terms of price, the Nokia X takes the lead.

DISPLAY: PhoneArena noted that the Nokia X has a 4-inch display with a resolutin of 480 x 800 pixels IPS LCD touchscreen. The Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 bears the same type of screen in terms of size and display. The pixel density of the S Duos 3 is unknown but the Nokia X has its display pegged at 233.

HARDWARE: Under the hood the Nokia X has a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor that clocks in at 1GHz and is powered with a modest 512MB RAM. The Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3, on the other hand, sports a dual-core processor as well with the same GHz capacity, but the brand of the chipset is unknown. Internal storage for both units starts at 4GB.

STORAGE EXPANSION: Micro SD support is available for the Nokia X, thus enabling you to expand its internal storage up to 32GB. In a spec sheet by NDTV Gadgets, it’s noted that the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 does not have expandable storage.

CAMERA: The Nokia X has a 3MP rear camera and no front-facing snapper while the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 has a 5MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front-facing snapper.

The units are both handy and are well-designed, thus, it’s really up to you which of this budget-friendly phones to use. Take note that the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 has a closer version of stock Android in its OS, while the Nokia X has a more customized platform but is still Android based.
