Big Bang Takes Top Spots On Korean Music Charts With 'Bang Bang Bang' and 'We Like 2 Party'

With a loud bang on June 1, one K-pop group took over Korean music charts.

YG Entertainment quintet Big Bang released the double singles on June 1, "Bang Bang Bang" and "We Like 2 Party," and soon took over Korean music charts. Within a day of release, both songs featured in the top two spots on all Korean daily music charts.

"Bang Bang Bang," the first song to be released, appeared in the number one spot on no less than 10 different Korean music charts.

The pair of singles appeared in the number one and two spots on the daily charts of Melon, Mnet, Bugs, olleh, Genie, Naver, Daum, and Monkey3, according to instiz's iChart accumulative chart.

Along with topping charts in South Korea, "Bang Bang Bang" appeared on multiple iTunes charts.

Two songs that Big Bang released in May, "Loser" and "Bae Bae" also remained in the top 10 spots on Korean music charts despite being released a month earlier.

Big Bang's songs were in competition with 4Men and EXO, following the K-pop group's release of the repackage album "Love Me Right" on June 3. IU, Zion. T, and Huh Gak songs also made up the top ten tracks as of June 3.

The four Big Bang songs ("Bang Bang Bang," "We Like 2 Party," "Bae Bae," and "Loser,") are the first half of the group's "MADE" project, representing the letters "M" and "A." The YG Entertainment act announced that they would release new music on the first of each month between May and September, heralding Big Bang's first group releases since 2012.
