Chaz Bono Drops 65 Pounds; Transgender Activist Wants To Do 'Dancing With the Stars'

Chaz Bono is a newer, slimmer man. The transgender activist has revealed that he lost 65 pounds since last November, when he embarked on a plan to eat healthier and get in shape. Bono revealed the 65 pound weight loss at a 300th episode celebration for Dancing With the Stars, which he competed on in 2011. Bono said that he would like to compete on the show again after his 65 pound weight loss because he feels more confident and agile physically. Although Bono admitted that his weight loss has plateaued somewhat after losing 65 pounds, he said there was no specific number in mind when he began the weight loss process.

"I'm feeling really good. I'd love to do Dancing all over again. I'd do it much better now than I did it then," said Bono. "To me, it was never really about a number. It was just about getting healthy and feeling and looking better. So I'm just kind of letting my body dictate. I've been eating the same way now for months and months and that hasn't changed. I'm going to have to eat this way for the rest of my life.

Bono said that he was worried about experiencing cravings for specific foods when he started his diet, but that they went away after a couple of months. In addition to dieting, Bono also embarked on a daily exercise plan.

Bono was most recently featured in the 2011 documentary Becoming Chaz, which also chronicled his relationship with former fiancee Jennifer Elia. The pair split that same year and Bono has remained single since then, although he continues to date.

This isn't the first time that Bono has gone public with his weight battle. In addition to Dancing With the Stars, Chaz competed on VH1 reality show Celebrity Fit Club when he was still known to the public as Chastity.
