Famous journalist and New York Times best-selling author Jae-ha Kim shared on her Instagram six K-Pop idols who are triple threats thanks to their talents in acting, singing, and dancing. In her post, she adds why she thinks so. Jae-ha Kim is an accomplished journalist who has written for numerous media outlets such as Rolling Stone, Variety, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles, Times, and MTV News.

Here are the six triple threats in K-Pop, according to a renowned journalist.

1. EXO's D.O

Jae-ha Kim applauded D.O's performance in the drama "It's Okay, That's Love." She even stated that it's one of the very few K-Dramas that she has rated a 4/4. In the drama. D.O plays a high school student who appears to be sweet but is actually more than that, leaving viewers in shock when they watch.

On top of being an actor, D.O is known as a member of EXO and had debuted with the group back in 2012. He is known as one of EXO's main vocalists and has been praised for is angelic vocals.

2. BTS's V

V was applauded for his role in the drama "Hwarang." Jae-ha Kim said that he could have gotten good reviews just by acting cute, but he went above everyone's expectations and perfectly portrayed an aristocrat who is burdened by the weight of his family's future. He was able to show off a dazzling smile that hides pain.

V rose to fame as a member of BTS, debuting with the group in 2013. He is the group's lead dancer, sub vocalist, and visual. The idol has been praised for his unqiue voice, as it is deeper and huskier than most vocalist in K-Pop. Since Jae-him Kim praised V's acting abilities in "Hwarang," it should be noted that he actually sang the OST of the song alongside fellow BTS member Jin; the song is called "It's Definitely You."

3. ZE:A's Park Hyung Sik

Jae-ha Kim notes that Hyung Sik has numerous great dramas and has acted out great roles, but her personal favorite is his acting in "Strong Woman Do Bong-Soon," in which he acted alongside Park Bo Young. He was able to show off amazing chemistry with his co-actress and played the part with "gusto and puckish charm," according to the journalist.

Park Hyung Sik debuted in 2010 as a member of ZE:A and is the group's main vocalist and visual. As the main vocal of the group, the idol has been praised for his honey-sweet voice and his amazing singing capabilities.

4. Suzy (formerly of Miss A)

Jae-ha Kim has praised Suzy for her growth as an actor following her "Dream High" days. She praised the idol for her performance in the drama "While You Were Sleeping," in which Suzy plays a reporter who tries to dig deep to uncover corruption, complimenting the idol for bringing depth and believability to her role.

Suzy debuted in 2010 as a member of Miss A. She was the group's lead vocalist, sub-rapper, visual, face of the group, and maknae. The idol has been praised her soft and sweet vocals, and was additionally hailed for her voice following her duet with EXO's Baekhyun titled "Dream" in 2016. In 2017, she debuted as a soloist.

5. IU

IU, like Suzy, first made her acting debut in "Dream High." While IU hit big with her 2019 drama "Hotel del Luna," Jae-ha Kim praised IU's acting in the bittersweet drama "My Ahjussi." She said that the drama definitely showed IU's acting range and IU flawlessly portrayed how the character desperately attempts to lead a normal life.

IU debuted as a soloist in 2008. She was praised for her sweet, girl-next-door image and was named as the "Nation's Little Sister." The idol has been praised for her vocals, specifically for her 2010 song "Good Day," where she executed a 3 octave note. She is also known for writing her own music.

6. EXO's Chanyeol

The second EXO member on the list! Jae-ha Kim praised Chanyeol for his role in "Memories of Alhambra." In the drama, he plays a game developer and his acting shows off "just the right amount of terrifying skittishness," according to the journalist. His acting in the drama was so good she actually didn't notice it was Chanyeol until much later! On top of that, she comments how easy it is to overact such a role, but he successfully portrayed a teenager who is scared to death.

Chanyeol debuted with EXO in 2012. He is the group's main rapper, sub-vocalist, and visual. Though the idol usually raps in EXO's songs, the idol has been praised for his vocal ability, thanks to his deep yet gentle voice.

Chanyeol is also known for composing music and had actually written EXO's song "Heaven." He also collaborated with SEVENTEEN's Woozi for a song called "Give Me That." In 2019, he debuted as a soloist with the SM Station song "SSFW." That same year, he debuted in the EXO sub-unit EXO-SC with fellow member Sehun.
