Ever since the release of ‘Divergent’, Theo James and Shailene Woodley has suffered through many dating speculations, re-sparking the rumor during their San Diego Comic Con appearance together.

Theo James, 29, says that he “wanted to be in a place where I seemed physically older and more mature”. Sounds like ‘Golden Boy’ actor wanted to make a good, if not great, impression on his co-star Shailene Woodley, 22.

His plan went along smoothly until girlfriend Ruth Kearney break up rumors gained momentum, which in part complicated his plans in pursuing 'Spectacular Now' actress.

‘Divergent’ DVD came out on July 22, entailing many behind-the-scenes look into the cast’s workout routine and extra feature interviews with Theo James, Shailene Woodley, Miles Teller and Kate Winslet. The interviews gave hints on what Theo James really thought of Shailene Woodley, giving some groundwork to their dating rumors.

Their dating rumors really seemed to damage his relationship with girlfriend Ruth Kearney, with whom he has been with since 2009. While the status of Theo James and Ruth Kearney’s relationship is still unclear, break up rumors have been haunting the couple. With ‘Insurgent’ filming to start back up soon, it seems unlikely that Theo James and Ruth Kearney will be able to weather the storm.

Theo made an appearance at San Diego Comic Con with Shailene Woodley, promoting the DVD release of 'Divergent' and the upcoming 'Insurgent'. Spending more time together may give the couple some time to think about where they are.

‘Insurgent’, which also now includes Bradley Cooper’s girlfriend Suki Waterhouse in the cast, will be released on March 20, 2015.
