'A to Z' Gets Early Premiere; Debuts on iHeartRadio Two Months Before Opening On TV

NBC comedy series "A to Z" gets an early premiere on iHeartRadio, nearly two months before its October 2 debut on TV.

"A to Z" will premiere its first episode on Thursday on digital properties owned by Clear Channel, which includes iHeart's website and mobile platform, reports Cnet.com.

"NBC is very excited to partner with Clear Channel on this first-ever digital opportunity that will give viewers and audiences a chance to fall in love early with 'A to Z,'" says Len Fogge, NBC Entertainment's president of marketing and digital.

"Viewers today love to customize their viewing experience - deciding not only what to watch, but when and how - and we couldn't imagine a more fitting project than 'A to Z' to debut in this innovative way," Fogge explains.

By working with iHeartRadion on the "A to Z" premiere, NBC will hit the millenial demographic, says Deadline.com.

It is not, however, an exclusive deal as NBC will also offer the content on its platforms including NBC's own website and app, Hulu, Xfinity and its affiliate websites. Viewers also have the option to sample the show through different on-demand services.

Music plays a pivotal role in the series and Alexandra Patsavas, who has worked on "Gossip Girl," "Twilight," and "The Hunger Games," will be in charge of the musical side of "A to Z."

The Warner Bros. TV production has "Mad Men's" Ben Feldman and "How I Met Your Mother's" Cristin Milioti for its lead stars. Feldman plays Andrew, a dating service employee, and Milioti portrays Zelda, an attorney. They are an unlikely couple who falls in love and forges a relationship.

The show also stars Lenora Crichlow, Christina Kirk, and Henry Zebrowski. Katey Sagal will serve as the show's narrator.

According to Variety, "A to Z" is executive produced by Rashida Jones, Will McCormack, Ben Queen, Michael Patrick Jann and Bill Callahan. The series' pilot episode was written by Queen and directed by Jann.
