Land’s End Customers Outrage Over GQ Magazine “Soft Porn” Cover: Catalog Arrives With Free Conde Nast Magazine Cover Of ‘Blurred Lines’ Emily Ratajkowski

Land’s End customers found naked Emily Ratajkowski of ‘Blurred Lines’ fame on their doorstep this morning. In an attempt reward their best customers, Land’s End had partnered up with Condé Nast to send them free magazine. But it looks like not all Land’s End loyal customers appreciated what they called a “soft porn” magazine cover of GQ.

GQ, famous for serving up to their male clientele, featured English model Emily Ratajkowski on their front cover wearing nothing but a flower lei and smothered in oil. That itself didn’t cause much uproar until the Condé Nast magazine was delivered to some of the more conservative customers.

New York Times recorded some priceless comments from the outraged Land’s End customers.

"My 14-year-old son brought in the mail today & was quite disturbed & fascinated by a 'gift' Lands' End sent us — a copy of GQ magazine with an absolutely OBSCENE cover!!!

Another wrote, "I ordered Christian private school children's uniforms from your company and you sold my home address to a magazine company that peddles in soft porn for men???"

Edgar Huber, the chief executive of Land’s End, had to quickly send out an email apology to the brand’s customers.

"There are simply no excuses; this was a mistake." He added that the company did not take out GQ magazine from the list of Condé Nast magazine as to not “exclude our male customers”.

He righted the wrong by switching the free magazine from racy GQ to Condé Nast Traveler. Much classier and less likely to anger moms who buy Christian private school uniforms via Land’s End.

At least Emily Ratajkowski got a little bit more publicity out of this! There always is a silver lining.
