Music producer Suge Knight was reportedly shot Saturday night (Aug. 23) at a pre-VMAs party in West Hollywood. The event, which took place at the 10AK club, was hosted by singer Chris Brown in celebration of MTV's Video Music Awards on Sunday.

Rumors have begun to circulate that Brown, as well as party attendee Justin Bieber, may have been the intended targets of the shooting.

The Daily Mail reports the 49-year-old Knight walked out of the nightclub after being shot before police took him to Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles. While some sources claim that Knight was shot twice, once in the stomach and once in the arm, Perezhilton.com and the Daily News write that the producer and Black Kapital Records CEO was shot six times.

According to the Daily Mail, Knight is currently in the ICU but is expected to make a full recovery.

Two other victims were shot as well, including a 32-year-old male and 19-year-old female, according to the Daily News. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department claims that they are also expected to recover.

The party was attended by several celebrities, including Justin Bieber, actor Tyson Beckford, Black Eyed Peas member Apple de Ap, and rapper the Game.

Beckford and Apple de Ap allegedly told TMZ that they heard shots being fired at 1:30 am.

When police arrived on the scene, the suspected gunmen were detained by police and the roads around the nightclub were blocked off, while some witnesses were questioned.

Early on Sunday, Brown addressed the tragic incident on Twitter, posting:

It's disappointing that we as a society can't have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bullshit!!!

One party-goer, Katie Clendon, tweeted after the shooting, indicating that she believed the target had been Brown.

Some sources are also claiming that Justin Bieber may have been a target. Attendee @ChloeLloyd posted on Twitter:
