Princes William And Harry Finally Take Custody Of Princess Diana’s Wedding Dress: Will The Royal Gown Be Put On Display In London?

Princess Diana's wedding to Prince Charles was a royal affair to remember. Now the couple's sons, Princes William and Harry, will finally take possession of their mother's famed gown.

And could the dress soon go on display somewhere in London?

Before Prince William and Prince Harry were born and Kate Middleton walked down the aisle in a rather celebrated Alexander McQueen gown, the boys' mother Diana, Princess of Wales, became a global sensation due in part to the stunning dress she wore for her wedding to Prince Charles in 1981.

The iconic ivory gown was designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel and was composed of silk, taffeta, and lace. The frock featured puffy sleeves, a 25-foot train, and 10,000 pearls.

The famous gown is currently in the possession of Diana's brother, Earl Spencer. The piece of fashion history has been exhibited at Althrop, the Spencer family estate in Northamptonshire.

According to the late Princess Diana's will, the royal sons are to receive the dress after Harry's 30th birthday, which will occur on Sept. 15.

Additionally, the Duke of Cambridge and his brother will take possession of several other dresses, suits, and evening gowns that belonged to their mother, as well as two diamond tiaras, photos, letters, home movies, and family paintings.

Telegraph reports that Harry will also receive a monetary inheritance of approximately $10 million upon his birthday. William received a similar amount when he reached that milestone a few years ago.

With the relocation of Diana's wedding dress to London, the renowned gown could very well be on its way being put on display in the capital city.

According to PEOPLE Magazine, Kensington Palace hosted a collection of royal dresses for the public to enjoy. Could the crown jewel of royal wedding dresses end up there soon?
