Benedict Cumberbatch Reveals Rivalry With James McAvoy At GQ Men Of The Year: Sherlock Actor Escapes To ‘Loo’ During Speech

Benedict Cumberbatch spilled the beans on his rivalry with James McAvoy after throwing back a couple of drinks at GQ Men of the Year Awards. In Vino Veritas. Then the Sherlock actor quickly escaped to “the loo” after revealing the Moriarty to his popularity. It was quite a night for the English actor.

Benedict Cumberbatch won the GQ Men of the Year 2014 under the Actor category. Although he doesn’t need it, the 38-year-old actor certainly deserves it. He recently won the Emmy for his performance in the wildly popular BBC TV show, ‘Sherlock’ and continues to rack up a list of very impressive movies on his resume.

“I'd like to thank James McAvoy for not being available,” declared the English actor as soon as he thanked GQ for the award. Talk about being frank.

While the actor has not mentioned this rivalry before, the flowing wine at the GQ Men of the Year event definitely helped Benedict Cumberbatch open up about his insecurities.

James McAvoy, most recently in ‘X-Men’ and ‘The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby’, is known for his charming humor, bright eyes and doing great interviews that has female fans swooning all over the world.

After hinting at how jealous he is of James McAvoy, ‘Sherlock’ actor started to ramble at the GQ Men of the Year Awards.

“Thank you Mum and Dad for rearing me. Wait, what century am I in?”

After a round of laughs, he called off his own speech.

“I'm going to leave the stage now because I drank a lot and I need the loo."

Then, we imagine, Benedict Cumberbatch made a beeline to the bathroom.

His self-effacing humor is cute and all, but Benedict Cumberbatch better start owning his own enchanting ways!
