“A former lover (Jennifer Ferrin) of Thackery's arrives at the hospital to ask him to operate on her nose, which has been ravaged by syphilis from her promiscuous husband. Edwards must leave in mid-surgery in the basement to pilfer the hospital for thread. He interrupts Thackery's surgery to learn his expertise will be needed on an aorta operation the next morning. After a long day, Edwards gets into a drunken fight with a bar patron. Meanwhile, Barrow settles his debt by selling a cadaver for 75 dollars, then enjoys a strip-tease from a prostitute pretending to look for a flea.”

Led by Clive Owen, who plays the cocaine addled Dr. John Thackery, the cast of ‘The Knick’ continues its brilliant performances, directed by Steven Soderbergh.

“He's arrogant, he's abrasive... [playing Dr. Thackery] is a challenge and it's a challenge that I like,” Clive Owen revealed during his interview with ABC.

“The guys that wrote this did an incredible amount of research and there is nothing in the show that wasn't inspired from what was going on in the 1900s."
