Sofia Vergara Is The Highest Paid Actress On TV (For The Third Time)! Forbes Lists Top Earning Ladies

Sofia Vergara is the highest paid actress in TV for the third year in a row. Forbes just released its list of top-earning female television stars and the 'Modern Family' star has once again risen to the top.

Between June 2013 and June 2014, Vergara reportedly made $37 million. In additon to earning $325,000 per episode of "Modern Family," like her co-stars, the Columbian actress has developed a highly successful brand.

Vergara is a spokesperson for Diet Pepsi, CoverGirl, Head & Shoulders, AT&T, and a medication called Synthroid.

Forbes reports that Vergara's title of highest paid actress is also the result of the launch of her first fragance, which is available on HSN, and her role in the indie film "Chef," which astonishingly earned $30 million at the box office this summer.

Runner up on the highest paid actress list was Mariska Hargitay. The "Law and Order: SVU" star pulled in $13 million in earnings over the last year.

"Big Bang Theory" star Kaley Cuoco was number three on the list, making $11 million this year. That annual income will likely increase though, as the actress recently signed a new contract for which she will earn $1 million per episode.

Rounding out the list are Julianna Margulies ($10 million), Ellen Pompeo ($10), Cobie Smulders ($10 million), Alyson Hannigan ($9.5 million), Amy Poehler ($7 million), Mindy Kaling ($6.5 million), Kerry Washington ($6 million), Zooey Deschanel ($6 million), Courteney Cox ($6 million), Claire Danes ($5 million), and Lena Dunham ($3.5 million).

Overall, however, female actors remain undervalued in Hollywood. The top 10 actresses on Forbes' annual list earned $140 million combined, while their male counterparts earned $214 million.
