After the recent controversies surrounding members of Girls' Generation and f(x), concern is growing over SM Entertainment's newest boy group, EXO.
This Saturday and Sunday, SM Entertainment will take its SMTOWN Live World Tour IV to Tokyo along with its roster of K-pop idol groups. However, while EXO has been confirmed for the concert, Luhan will reportedly be absent once again after missing promotional activities earlier last month.
"Sooyoung, Jessica, Luhan and Sulli will not be able to be with us at the SMTOWN concert in Japan," said an SM rep to TV Report.
On September 13 and 14, Luhan failed to attend the EXO concert in Bangkok reportedly due to health issues.
"After going to the hospital due to headache and problems sleeping, the doctor said he needed to take a break and long hours spent flying would be too hard on his body," wrote SM Entertainment according to Soompi.
"In order to protect our artist, we will follow the doctor's recommendation. Luhan will return to a regular schedule after taking the necessary rest."
EXO fans believed Luhan had recovered after getting rest. However, his absence from the SMTOWN concert is causing concerns once again.
"Is it really true that Luhan is sick?" commented frusemide on allkpop. "I'm not a hardcore EXO fan and that's why I'm asking. I have a bad feeling about this. We all know 'health reasons' is always fishy..."
"Is Luhan having problems with SM?" wrote kpopsuzy on Soompi. "From the statement from SM regarding Jessica, they said they were going to make a statement saying she was sick to cover for her absence. Luhan has been absent from a number of concerts for health reasons. I hope that does not mean Luhan is having problems with SM."
According to allkpop, Sooyoung of Girls' Generation will be filming for the MBC drama "My Spring Days" while Jessica has recently been asked to leave the group. Meanwhile, Sulli of f(x) is taking an indefinite hiatus from the group after her relationship with Choiza became public.
