SM Entertainment Prepares New Male Solo Artist, Possibly Super Junior-M's Zhoumi

One of Korea's largest entertainment agencies announced an upcoming male solo artist.

On October 27, SM Entertainment's social media accounts shared a black and white picture of the company's newest artist, where his face is hidden. There was neither a debut date nor a title of the song or album announced, and fans have taken to Facebook and Twitter to try and figure out who the mystery man is.

A black and white picture of a shirtless man clutching his head between his arms appeared on SM Entertainment's SMTOWN Facebook and Twitter accounts. The picture on both accounts said that the man is a "new male solo artist from SMTOWN."

Comments on the picture included guesses about who the artist is. Options included TVXQ's Changmin, Super Junior's Kyuhyun, Super Junior-M's Zhoumi, SHINee's Jonghyun, EXO's D.O, and SMRookies' Jeno or TaeYong. The latter recently featured in Red Velvet's "Be Natural."

SMTOWN used a similar anonymous promotion tactic after it announced the solo debut of Super Junior-M member and solo artist, Henry Lau. The exact same words were used on May 28, 2013, posted with anonymous photo images.

Commenters were quick to notice a mole on the hand of the artist, and shared links to forums where photos were uploaded with pictures of a mole on Zhoumi's hand in the exact location. Zhoumi would be the second member of Super Junior-M to go solo.

Another contender, TaeYong, took to Twitter shortly after the new teaser picture was released. He shared the image, and posted two comments. "What's your hope guys ..?" and "Just waiting for me, as a solo or not. It's not be a long time more :)"

This will be SMTOWN's third male solo artist since 2013.

In 2013, Super Junior-M's Henry became SM Entertainment's first solo artist since Kangta became a solo singer thirteen years before. SHINee's Taemin also went solo, with his album "Ace" in July 2014.
