In the last episode, David explained his reasons for agreeing to the live interview because he wanted to clear things up to the world that he's not a threat. But his troubles did not end there because Emily has found some information, after some sleuthing, that her father staged the whole thing in order to hide another truth.

This is the reason why Emily VanCamp's character couldn't bring herself to reveal her own secret to her father.

David, meanwhile, has some scores to settle particularly with Nolan whom he accused of stealing the inheritance of Amanda Clarke for himself, instead of turning it over just like he instructed.

"She died without knowing that you betrayed her, that you betrayed me, and for that, I will never forgive you," David told Nolan in the live interview.

Nolan later admonished David because he betrayed his trust knowing that he thinks of Emily's father like his own dad.
