B.A.P Honors EXO's 'We Are One' Slogan With Alleged Collective Contract Nullification Lawsuit

The world of K-pop has been hit with another lawsuit and it does not involve one member, but a group as a whole.

On Wednesday, K-pop group B.A.P reportedly filed a lawsuit at the Seoul Central District Court to nullify their contract with their record label, TS Entertainment. According to Xsports News, the six members of B.A.P have reportedly only earned an estimated $16,000 per member over the three years the group has been active, despite continuous promotions spanning 11 albums.

"Currently TS Entertainment is in the process of trying to figure out the details and the truth of the matter," said a statement by the record label according to allkpop. "However, we wanted to make clear that there is no such thing as a 'slave contract' or 'unfair contract conditions' in our contracts, and we have never given them unfair, one-sided treatment."

"All this while, TS Entertainment has tried our best to support the various activities of our artist B.A.P and strived to meet our mutual goals. And like we revealed back on October 28, all their schedules had been cancelled to give them rest as we had made the protection of our artist our priority out of mutual consideration and trust."

Although this type of lawsuit has been seen during EXO's scandals involving Kris Wu and Luhan, B.A.P's case is unique due to group's collective action as opposed to an individual member wanting to leave a group.

"I'm sorry to say this, but for now 'we are one' is meant for B.A.P," commented naelida on allkpop using EXO's famous slogan.

On Tuesday, the Seoul Central District Court reportedly confirmed that EXO's Luhan and SM Entertainment will go through court-referred mediation. Luhan's lawsuit will be taken to court should both parties fail to reach a mutual agreement. The same process occurred between SM Entertainment and Kris when the artist filed his lawsuit against the record label.
