As EXO's Luhan and SM Entertainment enter court-referred mediation, some details of Luhan's claims against the record label have come to light.

On November 25, the Seoul Central District Court revealed that both parties must come to an amicable agreement through mediation, or the lawsuit will be taken to court. According to allkpop, Luhan claimed that SM Entertainment treated EXO-K differently than EXO-M.

"SM treated EXO-K, filled with Korean members, differently from how they treated the EXO-M members with Chinese members," said Luhan through the alleged lawsuit. "From the beginning of our debut, EXO-K received support from SM and actively did promotions, but EXO-M had no promotions, received no financial backing, and endured a difficult time."

Reportedly, SM Entertainment accused Luhan of suing the company for other reasons through their own statement.

"To sue us when he has no reason to do so using the same law firm and the same method and to ignore the interest of the people concerned in the contract that includes the group's promotions and the agency after gaining a lot of popularity as a star through group promotions show that he put his personal gains first."

On October 15, SBS program "One Night of TV Entertainment" covered Luhan's lawsuit and compared it to former Super Junior member Hangeng's lawsuit back in 2009.

"With Hangeng's situation he won the case so they [Kris Wu and Luhan] might have gotten confidence from that and went to the same law firm," said lawyer Jung Yun Suk on the program. "However, if SM Entertainment had drastically modified their contract and got rid of the unjust conditions, then SM has a chance of winning the suit."  

"I hope Luhan wins this case because the Chinese has always been the underdogs in the K-pop industry," commented VictoriaELF on allkpop.

"But then again, Hangeng went through way more than Kris and Luhan combined. Hangeng was the first Chinese to enter the K-pop world and he didn't really shine in the first few years of Super Junior."
