Creator of "Family Guy," Seth MacFarlane to Host 2013 Oscars

Academy award producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron made the announcement that "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane would be hosting the 2013 Oscars in L.A.

They chose MacFarlane due to his performing skills and ideas for making a show entertaining.

MacFarlane is known for his famous TV shows, "Family Guy" and "American Dad." His movie debut, "Ted" took in around $420 million at the box offices this year.

MacFarlene, who is hosting the Academy awards for the first time commented that this was an "overwhelming privilege."

MacFarlene also released a video on Youtube of him revealing the news of being host on the Oscars to his dad.

His dad responds by saying that he will give him some "barely used" bathing suits, creating laughter.

The 2013 Oscars will be held on February 24 at the Dolby Theater at Hollywood and Highland Center in L.A.
