Afterschool wins ‘Best Singer Award’ at the Korean Culture Award

On December 15, at Seoul 63 City, the ‘2011 19th annual Korean Culture Award’ took place. On this day, Afterschool won the ‘Best Singer Award’.

Their representatives, Pledis Entertainment, Han Sung-woo producer said, “Afterschool debuted in Japan on July 16 and has been going back and forth from Korea to Japan , showing the best performance. In 2012, Afterschool will not only be the best girl group in Japan, but other Asian countries as well”.

This year, Afterschool released their 1st full album, ‘Virgin’, and their fourth single with sub-unit groups, A.S. Red and A.S. Blue. They also had another sub-unit, Orange Caramel, which made the hit song ‘Bangkok City’. One of the members, Joo-yeon, was also in one of the famous dramas of the year, “Smile Dong-hae” and Uee was in two dramas, “Buddy Buddy” and “Ohjakgyo Brothers”. Also, member Nana will be debuting as a fashion model in Japan in the upcoming year.

This ceremony was about the best stars that introduced Korean culture and helped make it grow. Famous celebrities, such as, actor So Ji-sub, Lee Tae-gon, Lee Da-hae and singers Mblq, 4men, Huh Gak also made the ceremony shine.
