Anime tropes can either be well done or result in severe fan disappointment. In the case of dozens of girls being somehow attracted to one singular guy, a "harem" anime, fans make jokes but still inevitably watch.

Because somehow, anime production teams still manage to make it entertaining.

A new anime entitled "Is it Wrong to Try and Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" is the latest anime to feature "harem" qualities and yet somehow hold fan's interest. Or at least, based on fan comments about the new character designs and Comiket festival promotional video, it would appear so.

The fan comments in question originate on anime site Crunchyroll:

"I am running out of witty remarks to say about harem anime," said AnimeKami.

"I am running out of ways to say I'm going to watch this harem anime," replied Bobmonkeys.

"More harems!! Yay!" exclaimed Emanny-chan2713.

Anime News Network reports that at last weekend's Japanese Comiket Festival a new promotional video for "Is it Wrong to Try and Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" was released, available below. Crunchyroll added in the new character designs for the main cast which are also available below.

The main voice actors for the series is as follows:

Inori Minase as Hestia

Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Bell Cranel

Haruka Tomatsu as Eina Chūru

Maaya Uchida as Ririruka Ahde

Saori Ōnishi as Eyes Warenstein

Shizuka Ishigami as Shiru Furōva

In terms of key crew, the anime series will be directed by Yoshiki Yamakawa for production studio "J.C. Staff." Character design for the alleged harem anime is by Shigeki Kimoto, who recently directed animation for "Selector Infected WIXOSS."

Anime News Network provides the following synopsis for "Is it Wrong to Try and Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon":

"The story takes place in the town of labyrinths, Orario, also called "Dungeon." Bell Cranel is a newbie adventurer that admires "Having a fateful meeting with a person of the opposite gender." One day during an adventure, he is attacked by a Minotaur.

Close to destruction, he is saved by a top-class female adventurer, Eyes Warenstein. He falls in love with her at first sight, and begins actions to become an adventurer that is on her level. He later encounters Hestia, a god called a 'Lolita god' due to her stature who falls in love with him."
