Lee Joon Signs With Acting Agency Shortly After Departing MBLAQ

Former MBLAQ Member Lee Joon has signed with Prain TPC.

Lee Joon, a popular Korean idol turned actor, left the boy band MBLAQ shortly before the start of 2015 to pursue an acting career. On January 7, Prain TPC confirmed that the idol-actor had signed an exclusivity contract with the company the day before.

Mwave quoted an affiliate of Prain TPC saying, "Lee Joon is an artist who has abundant potential in different fields. We will do our best so that his various talents can shine more."

Prain TPC is a company under Prain Clobal Inc, and a member of The Prain Consulting Group. The agency manages numerous artists, including Ryu Seong Ryong, Kimm Moo Yeol, Park Ji Yeong, Oh Jeong Se, Park Yong Woo, Moon Jeong Hee, Ryu Hyeon Gyeong, Oh Sang Jin, and Kim Dae Myeong.

Lee Joon's acting career began prior to debuting with MBLAQ in 2009, when he appeared in Ninja Assassin earlier in the year. He became a popular actor in both movies and dramas, appearing in Rough Play, Gap-Dong, and Mr. Back. Lee won the Best New Actor award at The 1st Wildflower Film Awards in 2014.

MBLAQ debuted in 2009 with five members, and announced in December 2014 that both Lee Joon and member Thunder didn't renew their contracts with the company. MBLAQ's last release with five members was the EP "Winter."

Along with being an actor and singer, Lee Joon is a trained modern dancer. He made headlines in 2010 when he revealed that he suffered from severe bipolar disorder and insomnia, and his frankness made him a popular guest on Korean variety shows.

Lee Joon finished his role in Mr. Back, and will be acting in I Heard It Through The Grapevine alongside Yoo Ho Jung and Go Ah Sung.
